Showing the in-pool loungers getting placed onto the pool sun shelf (aka. tanning ledge, baja shelf), we are in a vinyl liner pool with a 5″ water depth.
We are comparing:
– XGC Lounger with no risers (5″ maximum depth)
– XGC Lounger with 4″ risers (9″ maximum depth)
– Ledge Lounger Signature Chaise (9″ maximum depth)
– Step2 Vero Lounger (9″ maximum depth). Note: the manufacturer website states the Vero Lounger is not safe for vinyl liner pools or saltwater pools.
Results:
– XGC Lounger with 4″ risers sets into the pool in an instant.
– XGC Lounger with no risers utilizes their “Speed fill ballast system” and filling this lounger is fast and easy. This lounger is rated for a 5″ water depth and this lounger was really solid feeling in this pool with 5″ depth.
– Ledge Lounger Signature Chaise is a pain to fill and backbreaking to move. The pain is magnified when using these Ledge lounger products in vinyl liner pools where we have to be so careful not to push or pull this ultra-heavy water filled lounger on the bottom of the pool. You don’t want to risk buckling and tearing your liner.
– Step2 Vero isn’t safe for vinyl liners because the drain holes on the bottom of the lounger make direct contact with the liner. This lounger has a very thin plastic wall and the hole was sharp on the lounger we tested. This lounger is a 2-piece design that is held together with metal fasteners and the Step2 also states their lounger should not be used in saltwater pools. Overall, Step2 Vero Lounger was easy to fill, but it already felt like it was beginning to float in just 5″ water depth and it supposedly can work in up to 9″ depth.
